For patients with solid cancer tumors undergoing adoptive cell therapies, higher numbers of adoptive immune cells with antigen diversity reaching the patients’ tumor sites are correlated with improved clinical outcomes. Efficacy outcomes for the current generation of TIL therapies are constrained by the inefficient trafficking or homing of the immune cells from IV infusion through the vasculature and eventual entry into tumor sites where today, less than 3 percent of infused immune cells reach tumor sites with minimal intra-tumoral penetration.
