Clinical Trials' Burgeoning Concentration on Asia-Pacific Region
Clinical trials, the breakthrough factor for any advanced treatment, are gaining monumental importance in the Asia-Pacific regions due to their vast availability of resources and queued patient recruitment.
FREMONT, CA: Biopharma companies have been making a major shift towards the Asia-Pacific region in recent years and is likely to continue to mark progress in the future. Though it is primarily due to the increasing challenges in the traditional locations, the shift has begun to yield a possible outcome in the clinical technology domain. Thus, a huge concentration on the APAC region to externalise the R&D operations of the biopharma companies accelerate the CRO market with the forecast expected to double in the upcoming years at an annual compound rate of 15 per cent by 2024 valuing up to 71.7 billion.
Patients recruited in oncology clinical trials from the Asia-Pacific region were comparatively high with that of the global median of trials. Further, admission of patients is becoming much more complex with the complications persisting in study protocols and designs. With a large treatment-naive population pool and minimised trial concentration, Asia has managed to grab attention globally for accelerating patient recruitment for clinical trials that can be complex. Australia and New Zealand hold the key to early-phase trials via sanctioning their preferable locations, but Asia manages to stand as a zeal when it comes to large and late-phase clinical studies.
