The quest for healthier, more youthful skin has gained new momentum with Nahls Corporation's breakthrough anti-aging ingredient, Nahlsgen. Unlike traditional solutions that only target the skin’s surface, Nahlsgen works at a molecular level, setting new standards and addressing the growing demand for science-backed products that improve skin health and deliver remarkable anti-aging benefits.

As the first lab to offer a patented solution for cellular rejuvenation, Nahls is reshaping the skincare industry with a dual approach that serves both its consumers and business partners. It provides a range of advanced products in its direct-to-consumer skincare line, including lotions and body gels that deliver visible results. It also offers the versatile, premium raw material, Nahlsgen, empowering cosmetics manufacturers and formulators to improve their product offerings, add significant value and sustain a competitive edge in the market.

“We aim to play a key role as a foundational ingredient, supporting the creation of innovative and future-focused cosmetic products,” says Motoji Kawasaki, president and CEO.

A significant achievement for Nahls is its partnership with Rodan + Fields, a major player in the U.S. skincare market. Currently, nine of their products incorporate Nahlsgen, and the company has expressed full satisfaction with its effectiveness and positive impact.

Nahlsgen was developed through collaborative research with Kyoto University and Osaka City University. Following the identification of the unique mechanism and components in the lab, the team patented it and began exploring its applications through further partnerships with universities across Japan.

Nahlsgen promotes natural skin repair and cellular regeneration, improving skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles. It activates epidermal cells in human skin and promotes the production of endogenous glutathione. Glutathione works to suppress the generation of reactive oxygen species and suppress cell damage.

With a molecular weight of 331, it penetrates deeply into the skin and reaches fibroblasts—the cells responsible for collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production—often diminished with age. By inhibiting gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase, Nahlsgen temporarily induces mild oxidative stress that activates fibroblast function, enhancing the skin’s natural regenerative capabilities.

We aim to play a key role as a foundational ingredient, supporting the creation of innovative and future-focused cosmetic products.

These powerful benefits are delivered without unnecessary additives, striking a balance between simplicity, effectiveness and environmental responsibility. While many cosmetics today feature products with numerous ingredients to enhance perceived value, indiscriminate blending can compromise their functionality. Nahls combines scientifically supported ingredients in minimally necessary combinations to ensure they are gentle on both the skin and the environment, positioning it as a frontrunner in developing effective, eco-conscious skincare solutions.

As a university-based R&D venture, Nahls remains dedicated to creating new value for its products. Clinical research showcases Nahlsgen’s impact extends far beyond rejuvenating skin—it addresses a variety of skin concerns, including acne, wrinkles, scarring and scalp inflammation. Its versatility is further evidenced by its applications in plant health, oral care and pet skincare. For instance, while plants can weaken in strong sunlight or under high temperature, a spray of Nahlsgen beforehand can increase its stress tolerance and maintain vitality. Similarly, products with Nahlsgen have shown to improve skin conditions in many animals, especially older ones. The ingredient also enhances skin bacterial flora and tackles body odor, including armpit odor, at the source.

In its mission to ensure that people worldwide can benefit from its distinct product, Nahls is actively broadening its international footprint. It continues to explore new markets and form strategic alliances to enhance the quality of life for people worldwide—overcoming cultural, linguistic and geographical barriers.

Nahls is not just another name in skincare, it embodies a commitment to scientific innovation and quality that creates a meaningful impact on the everyday lives of people. Continually pushing the boundaries of biotechnology and skincare, it is redefining industry standards and bringing timeless vitality to consumers.
