As of 2024, the progress in AI-driven drug discovery reflects a profound shift in how drugs are discovered, designed, and tested, with the process becoming far more predictive, efficient, and tailored. This marks a significant change from traditional drug discovery pipelines, which are typically long, costly, and complex. AI now stands at the intersection of biomedical science and computational power, driving change at unprecedented speeds and helping scientists explore new frontiers in treating complex diseases.One of the latest breakthroughs in AI drug discovery is the increasingly sophisticated use of large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to predict molecular interactions. Generative models, which have already shown promise in various fields like image creation and natural language processing, are now being applied to generate potential drug molecules by learning from vast chemical and biological data sets.
